University of Silesia in Katowice, founded in 1968, is one of the largest and most dynamically evolving Polish higher education institutions, which offers innovative solutions in the field of education and a friendly space for conducting research. The University educates over 20,000 students at 8 faculties, including Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School.
The University of Silesia is also open to various forms of cooperation with industry and business. It intensively develops its relationships network, actively participates in cluster initiatives, concludes agreements with entrepreneurs and promotes academic entrepreneurship.

GrantXpert Consulting is a Cypriot-based SME, with a cumulative expertise of more than 25 years in European and National funding programmes. The team has a proven core expertise in providing training and consulting services to local and EU organisations, and a track-record in implementing research work on entrepreneurial, business and other educational topics.GrantXpert is also a leader at national level in the development of innovative educational programmes. The team’s mission is to deliver solutions, stemming from multidisciplinary strategic partnership on an EU level, tackling new European societal, digital & green challenges. The overall vision, is to change and improve EU citizens’ life by implementing EU funded programmes, and maximising their overall impact. Since 2009 we have helped our partners secure more than 40mln EUR in funding from national and EU programmes.

Institute for Biomedical Informatics – Germany
The Institute for Biomedical Informatics (BI-K) is a relatively recently founded institute at the Medical Faculty of the University of Cologne, a major research centre of excellence in Germany and Europe.
Our mission is to promote medical data science and biomedical informatics as key areas for innovations in health research.
We achieve this by:
• blending cutting-edge computational methods with interdisciplinary medical research for a patient-centered approach;
• incorporating multiple perspectives beyond medicine to social sciences and humanities to ensure real-world applicability of our outcomes and reduce translational barriers;
• keenly offering outstanding education and impactful theses to inspire and train the next generation of researchers.
We place increased emphasis on education and training, by providing a significant number of teaching offerings both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and by contributing to the training of medical doctors, medical specialists and professionals in cutting-edge inter- and cross-disciplinary subjects.
JOIST Innovation Park – Greece
JOIST Innovation Park is the most recent venture of Institute of Entrepreneurship Development – iED, and it forms the biggest Innovation Park in Southeast Europe. It enhances knowledge distribution, boosts entrepreneurial spirit, establishes collaborative networks, and offers inclusive working practices. It is the port of call for academic institutions, enterprises, business-minded individuals, innovation enthusiasts, startuppers, and anyone interested in developing, testing, and learning new things. We define JOIST as an Innovation Park, as it has been carefully designed to house innovation in all its forms and stages. We welcome ideas, develop concepts, promote effective solutions and support a variety of products and services. Our approach is interdisciplinary, combining methodologies from diverse environments, such as Digital Innovation Hubs, science parks, incubators, accelerators, competency centers, and co-working spaces.
University of Beira Interior – Portugal
The University of Beira Interior (UBI), in Portugal, has been establishing itself as a landmark institution in education, research, innovation, business, entrepreneurship, and informatics. With over 9300 national and international students from all over the world, UBI offers 32 undergraduate programs, 40 master’s programs, and 33 doctoral programs across five faculties: Faculty of Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Letters and Faculty of Health Sciences. The Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, particularly the Department of Management and Economics, focuses on business education. Faculty members are actively involved in entrepreneurship, contributing to respected journals, and participating in projects at both European and national levels. Once Research and development (R&D) are top priorities at UBI, the university has 14 R&D units, playing a crucial role in transferring technology from the university to the market and dedicated to achieving high levels of success in both teaching and research for the benefit of the entire community. The World University Rankings 2023 classify UBI in the “top 7%” and, according to the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2023, UBI is in the level 401-600 being one of the 600 best academies worldwide regarding the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals of UN.
